Students celebrate academic progress and personal growth throughout the year, with successes - big and small - recognised by teachers to nurture confidence, motivation and a love of learning. Achievements are celebrated in the classroom and across the school community, fostering perseverance, responsibility and engagement.
Strong partnerships with parents are at the heart of this approach, with open and proactive communication through regular meetings, email updates and individual appointments. Families are encouraged to be actively involved, sharing in milestones and working collaboratively with the school to support every child’s learning and development.
In Primary, students develop life skills and competencies every day by living the PRiDE values - perseverance, responsibility, independence, dedication and engagement - which are at the heart of every lesson. They step up and take ownership of their learning in a safe, supportive environment that prioritises wellbeing and social skills, giving them the confidence to take risks and learn from mistakes. Independence and responsibility are woven into daily routines, with students organising themselves, making decisions and managing their progress.
Teachers inspire critical thinking and collaboration through open-ended projects and cross-curricular links, while real-world skills come to life in Key Stage 2 with Squirrel Finance, where students learn to budget, save and manage an online bank. Through a diverse range of activities, students discover new passions, build friendships and develop leadership skills. Year 6 student leaders, in particular, model our school's PRiDE values and inspire their peers across every year group.
In Primary, multilingualism is central to the curriculum from the earliest years. All students study Arabic throughout their primary education, building strong foundations in language and culture.
Modern Foreign Languages are introduced as students progress - Year 3 learners study Spanish or Arabic, while Years 4–6 can choose French or Arabic. Specialist teachers tailor lessons for native and non-native speakers, helping every child develop confidence in communication.
We actively support home language proficiency, recognising its role in fostering identity and belonging. Reflecting our diverse community of over 75 nationalities, our language learning is enquiry-based.
Each year, students take part in International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS), expanding their global outlook and inspiring them to follow their passions.
Students also experience international learning in very tangible ways. As part of the BSME sports programme, Primary teams represent Park House in regional tournaments, learning resilience, teamwork and sportsmanship as they compete with peers from schools across the Middle East. Our young musicians step onto a global stage through BSME and COBIS music events, performing alongside students from different countries and discovering how music connects cultures.
